Maggie’s Drawers & Xmas Party – Sun. Dec. 16th
We hold dual events on a Sunday close to Christmas each year; the Maggie’s Drawers Lucky Target Skeet Shoot in the morning followed that evening by a Christmas Party to which all members and their families are invited.

Maggie’s Drawers Lucky Target Skeet Shoot
What is this skeet event of which you write, you might ask? Well, it’s a regular lucky target format skeet shoot where only the white lucky birds broken are counted for score. OK so far. The kicker is the prize awarded the shooter hitting the most lucky targets. The prize is possibly the biggest pair of bright red bloomers you’ve ever seen and guaranteed to fit anyone. Heck, you could get you, your spouse and kids, a passel of pets and still have room for a case of Bud Lite in these bloomers!

This is a fun shoot with much harassing of the shooter on the pad, some very questionable score keeping and a whole lot of fun. It is the custom that the winner of the bloomers attend the Christmas Party where they are awarded their prize. The bloomers are then donned and paraded around for all to see and admire plus photos taken which are held for future blackmail.

This is a 50-bird shoot, so bring sufficient ammo, and kicks off at 11:00 AM. If you are lucky there will be lunch; nothing fancy, generally pizza from Victoria’s.

Christmas Party
Our annual Christmas Party will be held on the evening of December 16th after the Maggie’s shoot. Activities begin around 6:30 PM with appetizers and schmoozing followed by the main meal around 7-ish. All members and their families are invited to attend. We do ask that you bring either an appetizer or dessert to share; the Club will provide the main meal of salad and roast beef with veggie side dishes. As always, BYOB and please drink responsibly.

Turkey Shoot Wrap-up
This year’s Turkey Shoot was a success with the Club netting $1,800 for our coffers; up from the preceding two years. Again, the Zombie shoot led the games grossing $556 for the day. Turnout was good throughout the day with the Kitchen doing a good business, in all we gave away 35 turkeys for the day.

Thanks are expressed to everyone who helped on the day and to the crew who gave the Clubhouse and grounds a fluff and buff prior to the event. A special word of thanks goes to Mary Kinnahan who gave the bathrooms their annual cleaning.

Photos of the day’s events can be viewed at: bit.ly/SRGC-TS-18.

Skeet & Trap
Skeet has been busy of late with may members honing their wing shooting skills. Trap is not yet back in business as someone flipped the switch for power to the trap bunker shutting of the electricity to the sump pump and the bunker flooded— again! The switch is now labeled. We received a load of clays recently so we should be good shape for the winter.

There will be no Skeet on January 16th as we are hosting the monthly meeting of the Plymouth County League of Sportsmen on that date. More on this meeting in January’s newsletter.

Building and Lands Committee Needs Members
As we all know, this position has been vacant for a few years as the responsibilities have grown into too much for one person to handle. We are hoping to attract five or six members to create a B&L committee who will work on current and future projects. Please contact Ernie Foster (ernie@websteronesource.com or 617-620-0999) if able to help. We thank you in advance for participating in your club!

Mystery Valentine’s Day Dinner Hosted At The Infamous SRGC Restaurant
A few members have boasted about their culinary skills which has now manifested into proposing a Valentines Day dinner for club members and their significant other. The date being proposed is February 15th. If interested, (as a featured cook or participant) please contact Ernie Foster (ernie@websteronesource.com or 617-620-0999).

Due to the venue being considered, participation will be limited to 20 couples. The food is being donated, BYOB and desserts welcomed.
